OUR MINISTRIES

First Baptist Church is involved in a number of ministries for which we are thankful. If you have questions about our ministries, or would like to get involved, please contact us at info@firstbaptistbarron.org and one of our staff will be in touch.

Sunday School and Adult Bible Classes

Each Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m., we gather to study God’s Word. We have children’s classes appropriate to the age, a teens class where we study God’s word as it impacts teens, and an adult Bible Study usually on a book of the Bible. It is a time of discussion, learning and interaction as we grow in God’s truth.

Morning Worship

Our worship focuses on praise to God in a serious but joyful way. We open the word of God and expound the Scriptures carefully and as accurately as we are able. Our church services focus on expository preaching and teaching of God’s truth in His Word. We also dismiss a Jr. Church for the young children so they can learn God’s word in an age appropriate setting.

Prayer Meeting & Evening Service

Each Sunday evening we gather at 6:00 p.m. for a time of prayer together. We believe that God moves as we seek Him and His will. Prayer is very central to our church. After a time of prayer each Sunday evening we have a time of worship and Bible study together, working our way carefully through a book of the Bible or a subject study. We hand out notes, have some open discussion time and generally focus on developing a practical and in depth understanding of God’s truth in God’s word.

Wednesday night Awana & Youth Group

Awana is a children’s ministry each Wednesday  from 6:30 – 8 pm September to April, which aims at understanding God’s Word, memorizing God’s word, learning practical aspects of God’s truth and having fun while we do it.

Our Youth Group is called Rooted Student Ministries and  is a teen ministry each Wednesday from 6:30 – 8pm, Our Youth Group is called Rooted Student Ministries. Our mission is to establish a foundation of the gospel for building Christian character, morals, values and behaviors in young people grades six through twelve; by using creative and innovative methods to excite, inspire, capture and ignite young people for Jesus. Our goal is to enable young people to understand and recognize who Jesus is and what it is to live for Him first and foremost.

Young Adults

Monthly Fellowship

We have a monthly men’s prayer breakfast and a monthly ladies craft evening where we enjoy being together doing what we enjoy doing. Ladies like to make things and men like to eat. So join with us and get to know others from the church in a very relaxed and friendly

Other Ministries

To help connect as believers in Christ, we have occasional church dinners, fellowship times, picnics and outings. We also encourage attendance at summer family camps, camp programs for the children and youth (scholarships are available). And of course, we encourage our church to meet up during the week as family and friends and share time together.
